Dr.
Cowden received his M.D. from the University of Texas
Medical School in Houston in 1978, followed by an internship
and residency
at St. Louis University in Missouri, and critical care
and cardiology fellowships at the same hospital. Dr.
Cowden is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular
disease, and clinical nutrition.
Administering
"crisis intervention medicine" convinced Dr.
Cowden that to help people, he needed to direct his
efforts to preventive medicine. Dr. Cowden has over
twenty years of experience in treating cardiac disease,
cancer and other chronic diseases, primarily with alternative/integrative
medicine. Dr. Cowden is accomplished in applied kinesiology,
electrodermal screening, homeopathy, reflexology, acupuncture,
acupressure, biofeedback, as well as color, sound, neural,
magnetic, electromagnetic, and detoxification therapies.
Dr.
Cowden is president of IntegraHealth, a company specializing
in medical consulting, medical education, medical research,
lay public and professional seminars and evaluation
of medical products primarily in the USA, Mexico, Brazil,
Germany, England, Australia, China, and Japan. Dr. Cowden
conducts clinical research and teaches alternative medicine
at the Conservative Medicine Institute in Richardson,
Texas. Dr. Cowden is also the founder and chairman of
the Texas Integrative Practitioners Association. Dr.
Cowden is a sought-after authority on alternative and
integrative medicine and has appeared on nationwide
radio and television programs.
